A dispensation has been granted to extend the competition by two days which means that the need for the quick succession between the Third Round and the Quarter Final is removed. We feel this gives the greyhounds a greater resting opportunity at an important point in the competition, it aids those trainers travelling from a distance, and it also assists those that want to attend trackside by facilitating weekend scheduling’.

‘We would ask for a little more patience whilst we seek to maximise customer opportunities for Final’s night. We will aim to open ticket sales on Monday 25 February, and entry forms will be available from that date. The entry fee will be £250 which hopefully makes it accessible for all those wanting to live the ‘Derby Dream’.

The winner’s purse is set at £100,000 and we are extremely grateful to Star Sports, ARC and Local Parking Security Limited for their financial support. We consider ourselves very fortunate that Ben Keith, ARC and Richard & Donna Evans share our passion and appreciate the significance of the Derby to so many in our sport. Dad would have been so proud that Nottingham is hosting The English Derby and our dedicated team will do their very best to deliver a great Derby’.

‘We are delighted to help Rachel Corden complete the work of her father and fulfil a dream’, says Star Sports owner Ben Keith. ‘To be involved in the next chapter of the English Greyhound Derby is really exciting for us all at Star Sports’.
